Abstract

The article approaches the issues of soil science and soil protection in connection with the implementation of land consolidation, the realisation of which is one of the long-term priorities of the Government of the Slovak Republic. The article focuses on the issues of building public and common facilities and measures in the country in the implementation of land consolidation, along with the tasks of the state to secure them, subsequently it points out the issues of the position of the Research Institute of Soil Science and Soil Protection, its current tasks and powers and its perspectives. In the final part, it brings several considerations de lege ferenda about what are the promising roles of soil science and soil protection in these decision-making processes and how they can contribute to the formation and creation of an organized landscape.
