Electronic communication of regional cities with their inhabitants in matters of territorial self-government

Abstract

The paper focuses on the results of research into the level of
electronic communication of regional cities with their inhabitants. It
pays attention to the electronization of public administration and the
ambition to strengthen it through public participation in decisionmaking
in self-government matters. In particular the paper focuses on
the possibilities of implementing the means of direct democracy by the
114 inhabitants of regional cities in electronic form. The focus of the paper is research focused on the level of electronic communication of self-governing regions with their inhabitants, as well as on the level of used electronic means of direct participation of its inhabitants in regional self-government. The paper also includes a presentation of the results of a comparison of research findings from previous research focused on the use of mutual electronic communication of higher territorial units with their inhabitants in matters of territorial self-government with current research findings at the regional level.
