Abstract

The author compares perception of justice in antic Rome and contemporary Slovak law. The article analyses (on the basis of legal and non-legal sources) the impact of the natural law concept on Roman perception of aequitas and its possible heritage for modern legal order. The article is based on Slovak historical context and concentrates also on modern issues and challenges associated with the element of justice.
